In the just concluded 2023 Kazakhstan Kabambai Batyr Cup fixed point competition, they arrogantly captured all the gold medals of individuals, groups and women’s groups, and played a good game for the upcoming fixed point World Cup (PGAWC) Kazakhstan.

The tournament was held in the same venue as the World Cup on June 15. Most of the competitors were Paragliding experts from various countries who had signed up for the tournament, such as SLUGA from Slovenia, DJURKOVIC from Serbia, Li Zhexiu from South Korea, Cao’s twin sisters Hua, etc. Of course, the best players are our strong Chinese team, Li Feng, Wang Jianwei, Zhou Chen, Liao Qingli, and Chen Yang, the two consecutive designated World Cup champions. These five experts have formed a tacit team this year, and fought many world-class designated matches everywhere, especially Chen Yang, who won the championship in Wenzhou railway station in the rain in the domestic Paragliding designated league tournament a day or two before coming to Kazakhstan, It can be said that they came to participate with the momentum of victory.

What is even more gratifying is that the lineup of the Chinese army on this trip to Kazakhstan has once again expanded, with the addition of not only world-class players such as Chen Lifeng and Guo Jing who have experience in competitions and have won championship honors, but also strong players such as Zhang Zhijun and Xu Jin who have performed well in various domestic competitions. The overall competitiveness of the team has also been strengthened once again.

The competition lasted for three days from June 12th to 14th, flying three rounds per day. However, from the first round of the first day, the competition seemed to have lost its competitive suspense. Instead, it was the drumming and flower passing between Chinese players who ranked first. After the first two rounds, Chinese female player Guo Jing defeated Chen Yang 1-0 and temporarily ranked first. But after four rounds, Chen Yang’s two consecutive zero points began to take over the top spot and firmly dominated until the end. Chinese teammates Li Feng and Xu Jin also caught up with them at one point, but unfortunately Chen Yang did not give them too many opportunities to reverse the league.

In the end, nearly half of the top 20 leagues were Chinese players. The high level of strength of our Paragliding fixed-point athletes accidentally turned this foreign cup competition into an overseas sub race of the domestic fixed-point league.

Chinese player Chen Yang, as always, played steadily and successfully won the cup championship. Teammate Li Feng won the silver medal by a margin of 9 points.

In terms of team formation, China also had three teams, which at one point formed a trend of internal competition. In the end, the two Chinese teams led by Guo Jing and Chen Lifeng won the team championship.

In terms of the women’s team, it is also the world of the Chinese team. The women’s army composed of Chinese female generals has been unstoppable, with Guo Jing winning the women’s championship and Liao Qingli winning the runner up.

However, even with a soft medal, the Chinese team remained very calm and focused on the more important, upcoming World Cup.
