Paraglider Performs Precise Landing champion of the world
In the middle of 2023, the Chinese Paragliding circle has received another encouraging news. At present, Chen Yang, a Chinese player, has jumped to the first place in the world ranking of Paragliding fixed-point with a total score of 391.2! At the same time, our Chinese team also surpassed Serbia and Slovenia with 1321.4 points, becoming the first national team in the Paragliding fixed-point world! In addition, Li Feng, a Chinese player, also ranked second in the world with 372.4 points. This summit meeting between the former and the latter can make us proudly declare that the current fixed point level of China’s Paragliding has become a synonym for world-class. You know, because of various reasons in the past few years, China’s Paragliding players missed all kinds of events on the international Paragliding stage, and the disadvantage of scores also led to the bottom of the world ranking, ranking last. It was not until this February’s Paragliding World Cup Thailand stop that it gradually returned. However, although they have not participated in international competitions for several years, the training and preparation of Chinese athletes have not been relaxed, and they have always persisted in honing their designated skills no matter how difficult it is. This is also why when they returned to international competitions for the first time in February this year, they were able to immediately win the championship: there was no such thing as luck or accidents, it was all due to accumulated hard work. This designated Chinese Paragliding team, mainly composed of Chen Yang, Li Feng, Zhou Chen, Wang Jianwei and Liao Qingli, won two gold medals (individual group champion: Li Feng/senior group champion: Xiong Gang, And also broke the world record of FAI. In fact, historically, China’s Paragliding fixed-point athletes have always been strong. Since Zhang Shupeng won the championship for the first time at the Croatia Paragliding fixed-point World Championships in 2009, China has always been at the top level in the world in the fixed-point events. After Zhang Shupeng switched to wing mounted flight, Chinese athlete Sheng Guangqiang also won the individual group championship at the designated World Championships in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2013. In 2014, after several rounds of competition, the Lion King Ma Qiang won the first Paragliding designated World Cup annual championship trophy in Chinese history. In 2017, at the designated World Championships in Albania, we won the team championship again. It was not until 2019 that Chinese athlete Wu Yong won the individual championship at the Serbian World Championships that he temporarily stayed away from the world stage for several years due to reasons such as the inconvenience of going abroad for competitions. Next, our Paragliding will go to Lombok in Indonesia to participate in the fourth round of the 2023 Paragliding World Cup, which will be held there at the end of July. After experiencing the warm Mekong River, romantic TĂĽrkiye Mediterranean and exotic Central Asia, they will face new challenges in the island arena. Can Chinese athletes continue to write legends, and can Chen Yang and Li Feng maintain their leading position in the world rankings? Let’s stay focused and continue to cheer for them!
