The fourth round of paragliding competition of the 2023 World Cup will be held from July 29 to August 5 in Akzale, Turkey. The conditions here are very good, a mixture of plain and mountain flight.
The first World Cup in Aksaray was held in September 2018. Yasen Savov won the second place with very close results, second only to Russell Achterberg in that competition. When the World Cup returns to Akzale in September 2021, it will be largely Martin Chovanowski’s game. He is in the top three of the five tasks! Yassen and Martin will fight again next week. There will also be a large team of Iranian pilots, especially Hadi Heidari and Soheil Barikani, not to mention Torsten Siegel, who will participate in the 97th World Cup. He can bring back a medal for Mr. Kim again!
Ferdinand Vogel, the new Mr. X-Alps, is another person who can make amazing achievements from the strong heat wave, which is absolutely worthy of attention. Stan Radzikowski, an international pilot, is also rising in the heat wave these days. He has performed well in the recent world championships and was also in the lead at the Romania World Cup a few weeks ago.
As for Turks flying on their own territory, many of them may also fly away from the top of the list. We also put Lila on British legend Guy Anderson. He used to come second in the world championship. More importantly, he appeared in the team of Cross Country Magazine with Dylan Mansley (the youngest pilot in the competition), Craig Morgan and Dougie Swanson Low. As for the podium for the ladies, Silvia Booz Ferraris was the only woman who won the World Cup in the past. Therefore, it may be time for her to return or the new heroine to fly away with the final award.
It will be an exciting game, and we predict that many new names will appear at the top of the list.
