Swing Releases Two New Mito 3 Wings: RS and D-Lite for Beginners and Beyond

German wing manufacturer Swing has expanded its Mito 3 lineup with two new versions aimed at stress-free flying. The Mito 3 RS is the durable option, designed to withstand the inevitable ground-handling mistakes that come with learning, while the D-Lite sheds nearly a kilogram for pilots who prefer hike-and-fly adventures.

Both wings target flight schools and newly qualified pilots building confidence on their early flights. Swing emphasizes that the Mito 3 RS and D-Lite fly calmly, forgive errors and remain highly predictable — precisely what new pilots need to develop confidence quickly.

But Swing is keen to point out that these aren’t just school wings. The combination of stress-free handling, solid safety characteristics and strong climbing performance makes them suitable for first cross-country flights too. At the same time, the weight is low enough for spontaneous hike-and-fly tours.

Design features include colour-coded lines for straightforward identification. Upper and lower surfaces use Techtex 15D material, which Swing says delivers the right balance between lightness for hike-and-fly and durability for everyday use. The aspect ratio sits at 4.85.

The D-Lite weighs 3.8kg in size S and is available in five sizes covering weight ranges from 60kg to 125kg.
