Mac Para Elixir Review: Premium EN-C Two-Liner Delivers EN-D Performance with EN-C Safety

Mac Para’s all-new Elixir is a high-performance two-line paraglider, positioned at the premium end of the EN-C class. Designed primarily for cross-country pilots upgrading from conventional EN-C, competition and sports-class flyers, and hike & fly enthusiasts seeking an “all-round” wing, the Elixir represents a significant leap in performance without sacrificing safety.

Mac Para’s core development objective was to create a wing delivering “EN-D-level performance while retaining compact design, forgiving handling, and EN-C passive safety.” Within the Mac Para lineup, the Elixir slots between the Verve and the Magus competition wing.

Two-Line Architecture: Performance Without Compromise

Like the Verve, the Elixir employs a proven Nitinol-reinforced structure with an identical internal layout, while significantly increasing the number of cell panels. The aspect ratio reaches 6.68, delivering superior airfoil efficiency.

Mac Para describes the Elixir’s flight characteristics as: higher efficiency in weak lift, faster top speed, improved glide performance in accelerated flight, precise handling, and excellent stall resistance. Key technical highlights include: “Efficient two-line architecture minimises drag” and “Nitinol reinforcement ensures airfoil stability and long-term durability.” The Elixir also delivers solid collapse resistance and high passive safety. Available in four sizes; the size 22 tips the scales at just 4 kg (suitable for pilots 80–88 kg).

Level Up Your Flying: Train Before You Take the Leap

As EN-C wing performance continues to climb, pilot skill must keep pace. Systematic ground training before your first flight will help you adapt more quickly to the sensitive response of a high-performance wing.

Training with a Paragliding Harness Simulator lets you familiarise yourself with two-liner handling characteristics ahead of time, building confidence for launch and flight. For a performance class like EN-C, solid foundational training is especially critical.

On the gear side, an efficient Fast Pack Paragliding Harness Bag keeps your hike & fly kit compact and light, so your energy is reserved for the climb and the flight itself.
