Phi Launches the Rowdy: A Simple, Efficient Parakite for Every Pilot

Phi has officially launched the Rowdy, an entry-level parakite that promises to bring simplicity and efficiency to a wide range of pilots.
Earlier this year, Phi playfully teased a “no to parakites” April Fools post — turns out they were quietly working on three prototypes all along. The Rowdy is the first to make it to market, pitched as a clean, accessible wing for pilots of all backgrounds.
Described by Phi founder Hannes Papesch as “a revolution in simplicity and efficiency,” the Rowdy features a two-liner design with a single A-riser, making it intuitive to handle while still offering solid performance characteristics. The wing boasts extended brake travel and a very late stall behaviour, giving newer pilots plenty of feedback and time to react.
For pilots just starting their free-flying journey, having the right equipment matters. A reliable Harness Simulator can help you build confidence on the ground before taking to the air.
Phi’s approach with the Rowdy shows that entry-level equipment does not have to mean compromised design — sometimes the simplest solutions are the most effective.
