Advance Progress 4 Harness Unveiled: Comfort Meets Versatility

Advance has officially launched the fourth generation of its beloved Progress harness, designed with newcomer and intermediate pilots in mind — as well as anyone who prefers the secure, upright feel of a traditional harness.
Described by the Swiss manufacturer as “every adventure” in a single package, the Progress 4 merges comfort, control and protection into a lightweight midweight system combining a reversible harness and detachable rucksack.
“The new Progress 4 combines outstanding comfort, intuitive handling and comprehensive protection in a versatile midweight harness-rucksack system,” Advance stated.
Ergonomically shaped leg pads provide precise handling during thermal flying, while optimised back support dramatically improves comfort on longer flights. The back protector is inflatable, extending right down into the lumbar region. It inflates via either an ultra-light inflation bag or an optional electric pump weighing just 42g.
Despite the high level of protection, Advance says the system stays impressively light and packs down small. The redesigned rucksack features body-hugging shoulder straps for excellent carrying comfort and balanced load distribution.
The Progress 4 is available in three sizes, with the medium coming in at 3.45kg.
