Supair Launches the Pulse: A Sub-Style Harness for Everyday XC Pilots

Supair has unveiled the Pulse, a pod-style “sub” harness aimed squarely at regular cross-country flyers rather than seasoned competition racers.
Speaking at Coupe Icare, Supair’s Clément Latour said the goal was “to make an accessible submarine for any pilot – and not just competition pilots.” The result is a harness that’s simple to climb into, offers solid protection, keeps instruments within easy reach, and is built to last, according to the French manufacturer.
Key features Supair highlights include an uncomplicated entry system, instruments placed directly in the pilot’s line of sight, full-body inflatable protection certified to 30G, dual reserve compartments (one on each side), and a weight of just 3.4 kg in size M. “In short, it combines everything a modern cross-country pilot looks for in a harness that remains easy to use,” the company says.
The Pulse targets pilots who want to cross ranges, spend five or six hours in the air, or chase an FAI triangle – without giving up passive safety. Those long mountain crossings also demand attention to hydration, which is exactly what the Your Journey Bottle is built for.
Supair describes it as the best of both worlds: cross-country pilots can raise their performance “without going to extremes,” keeping their current wing and flying habits intact. It’s a new kind of compromise, the brand says, blending the technology of a pressurised harness with the weight, simplicity and passive safety of a classic XC pod. For anyone moving from a standard seat harness to a pod-style design, a Harness Simulator is a handy way to rehearse ground handling before that first flight.
The Supair Pulse is offered in three sizes.
