NIVIUK ARROW P: LIGHTWEIGHT POD HARNESS

The Arrow P is Niviuk’s new lightweight pod harness. They say it’s the lightest in class, weighing from 1.67kg including karabiners and speed bar

Part of Niviuk’s P (Plume) series of lightweight products, it is intended for cross-country, hike-and-fly and vol-bivouac.

The triangulation system makes it very stable, Niviuk say, and the fairing and pod have aerodynamic advantages. The 3D modelled seat ensures comfort for long flights.

The harness is made form stretchy Lycra and D70, a light fabric with good tear resistance. The inflatable fairing is Skytex 27 inside, and Skytex 32 outside. The pod can be easily removed and replaced if necessary.

The protection system is a compact foam that Niviuk say offers the best compromise between lightness and impact protection. It is 14cm thick and weighs 300g. It comprises three layers of different-density foams, and is rigid enough that the harness does not have a separate seat plate. Niviuk say an inflatable protector will be available to order as an option in the future.

It has an integrated parachute container, which is on the right side of the harness.
