Chinese Paragliders Soar Over Kilimanjaro for the First Time in History!

At 13:45 local time on August 27, 2025, in Tanzania, Muzi and Yuan Linchao took off via paraglider from the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, marking the first time Chinese adventurers have undertaken a paragliding challenge from the “Roof of Africa.” Earlier, at 05:30 the previous morning, Muzi, Yuan Linchao, and Cheng Xinyu successfully summited the main peak of Kilimanjaro. Due to strong winds and her lower-grade paragliding equipment, Cheng Xinyu opted to abandon the flight for safety reasons and is currently descending on foot. During the flight, Muzi landed precisely at the predetermined landing point at 15:03, while Yuan Linchao safely touched down near Muzi’s landing site at 17:10, both successfully completing the challenge. Notably, this is not only the first paragliding flight by Chinese individuals from Mount Kilimanjaro but also a significant milestone in Muzi’s “Seven Summits Paragliding Project.” In May 2023, he had already completed a paragliding flight from Mount Everest, Asia’s highest peak, and this Kilimanjaro expedition marks the completion of the second major mountain goal in his project. Currently, Muzi and Yuan Linchao are on their way back to the hotel and plan to return to China by flight on August 29, concluding their climbing and paragliding adventure in Tanzania.
