Flare Launches Scout Parakite — Designed to Grow With the Rider

Flare Scout Parakite

The transition from regular paragliding into parakiting can feel daunting — Flare is aiming to smooth that path with its new Scout wing, unveiled this week. Aimed squarely at newcomers, the Scout is built to make the sport accessible, safe and genuinely enjoyable from the very first session.

Flare says the Scout bridges the gap between beginner-friendly handling and the kind of performance that keeps riders engaged as their skills develop. “It offers new pilots a forgiving learning platform while maintaining the excitement and responsiveness required by more experienced riders,” the brand explains.

The wing features a reflex profile for maximum stability and delivers straightforward, honest feedback — no surprises during launches or in flight. A standout feature is the zippable winglet system, which lets riders fine-tune the wing’s roll characteristics. With winglets attached, the Scout feels calm and confidence-building; remove them and the setup becomes more dynamic, suited to more active flying and advanced control.

Flare cautions that winglets should only be removed by riders fully confident in handling the change in behaviour. The aerodynamic package rounds out with a sharknose leading edge, mini ribs for clean airflow and nitinol rigid foil construction for durability over the long term.

Ideal for coastal soaring, dune flying, dynamic terrain, windy days and skill development, the Scout is offered in four sizes: 16, 19, 22 and 26.
