Skywalk Launches the Chili 6 High-B Paraglider

Skywalk have pulled the covers off the Chili 6, the newest evolution of their high-end intermediate wing. The German manufacturer describes it as a finely balanced glider built for ambitious cross-country pilots who want the right blend of performance, handling and comfort.

The Chili 6 adopts a 2.5-line layout – a setup that fuses the efficiency of a two-liner with the familiar, approachable feel of a three-liner. Skywalk say the design team relied on advanced simulation tools backed by extensive flight testing, rather than simply chasing headline performance figures. The aim, they explain, was a wing that helps real-world pilots draw more out of themselves when the conditions turn demanding.

“Modern XC pilots face a different reality today,” the company notes. “Weather windows are becoming less predictable, conditions are more dynamic, and both pilots and equipment are being asked to deliver more.” In that environment, they argue, raw speed matters less than how efficiently a pilot can use available performance across a full cross-country flight.

Signature features return and have been refined, including Skywalk’s Jet Flaps and a set of winglets that sharpen roll stability and directional control. A new Speed Control (B/C steering) system joins the package, while an updated aerofoil, reworked load distribution and a redesigned internal structure are said to lift stability and ease pilot workload in rough air. Clear, precise feedback should help the pilot read the airmass and core thermals efficiently.

The wing’s potential has already been proven in the air: Stephan Gruber flew a 304 km FAI triangle in Austria this June. Built from Dominico TX-Light cloth, the Chili 6 is available in six sizes and three colourways.

Lightweight, high-performance sails like the Chili 6 deserve careful treatment on the ground. A dedicated concertina bag helps shield the leading edge and sail from creasing in transit, keeping your wing crisp flight after flight.
