Ozone Enters the Parakite Market with the New Vapor

Ozone has stepped into a new category with the release of the Vapor – the brand’s first ever sport-class parakite. Built for pilots who want stability, agility and plenty of fun, it still promises genuine performance for the class.

Ozone says the aspect ratio and cell count were chosen to keep the Vapor compact, nimble and forgiving, while leaving enough performance on tap when the conditions call for it.

“It’s the perfect first parakite for advanced paraglider pilots, or an intermediate parakite for newcomers to air sports,” the company says. The construction is deliberately tough, engineered for the kind of demanding environments pilots meet well beyond grassy Alpine meadows.

Although parakites shine in stronger laminar winds, Ozone has fine-tuned the launch behaviour so the Vapor also works as a mountain companion for early-morning descents down the valley, whether over dry ground or snow.

On the wing it can “fly fast, dive very deep, lift really high and glide far”. Ozone says it worked hard to deliver a direct, dynamic response when wanted, while keeping a long brake travel that preserves the wing’s accessibility.

A pure three-line layout gives maximum control, and a dedicated bridle system lets pilots choose between lively or gentle dives to match their level. Depowering is straightforward thanks to the wing’s wooden safety handle.

The Vapor is offered in seven sizes, from 11 to 25, with a tighter size spread to suit a wide range of pilot weights, terrains and conditions.

Keeping a wing like this protected on those mountain missions matters – a purpose-built Concertina Bag helps guard the leading edge in transit, while a Fast Pack Bag keeps things quick when you need to bundle up and launch again.
