BGD Unveils Refreshed Epic Freestyle 2 — Built for First Acro Moves

BGD has rolled out a refreshed version of its Epic Freestyle, packing in new risers, redesigned acro handles, and three fresh colour options. The wing is engineered for SIV training and pilots taking their very first acro steps, with the brand emphasising that it forgives mistakes gracefully.
According to BGD, the wing handles all the mainstream acro tricks and combinations while staying composed when inputs and timings slip. “It won’t shoot too far if you mess up your inputs or timings, so you can reset and go again — push your limits with peace of mind,” the manufacturer explains.
One standout design choice is the wing’s resistance to cravats and shooting behaviour. The Epic Freestyle 2 carries an EN-B certification and an aspect ratio of 5.0 — a balance BGD describes as the sweet spot between safety and performance. Brand-new neoprene-covered risers and slim-profile acro handles come as standard, and the T-bars are angled slightly to encourage a natural hand position.
BGD says the goal was to keep everything pilots already loved about the original while making pilots feel more comfortable and connected to acro paragliding. The proven profile and technical geometry remain untouched, preserving the lively feel, confidence-building manners and progression-focused character that made the original a go-to wing for schools worldwide.
Off the acro field, the Epic FS 2 is equally at home carving coastal ridges, climbing thermals or heading out on a cross-country adventure. Available in five sizes from XS (50-65kg) up to L (105-125kg).
