SRS Ozone Edition Takes Flight in Le Grand Bornand

The fourth leg of the Season Ranking Series (SRS) kicks off this weekend in Le Grand Bornand, France, with nearly 130 pilots from 36 countries preparing for six days of competitive free-flight.

The SRS Ozone Edition begins on Sunday, July 19, 2026, and is open to experienced EN-B and EN-C pilots as well as competition-ready fliers who have outgrown fun comps and national-level tasks. The series carries FAI Category 2 sanctioning.

Among the most eagerly anticipated entries is current world champion Baptiste Lambert, who will be flying an Ozone Delta 5 (EN-C) rather than his usual competition wing. He joins his father Cyril as part of team Ozone 2 — a family affair with both pilots needing strong daily results given that it is the second-placed team member who scores.

Also on the start list is Madalena Janaway (GBR), currently second in the female rankings and winner of the season opener in Colombia. Aurelijus Andreliunas, Arnold Castro, and Luke Nicol — ranked second, third, and fourth overall respectively — are also confirmed to fly.

At 72, Polish pilot Ireneusz Stanislaw Wasilewski is the oldest competitor, while the youngest is 16-year-old Victor Aguilera Lozano from Spain.

Nestled in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps, Le Grand Bornand sits 30 kilometres east of Annecy and offers access to one of Europe’s most celebrated flying arenas. Towering limestone cliffs, wide alpine pastures, and deep valleys create a landscape that is as spectacular from the air as from the launch site at Mont Lachat.

Live tracking, results, and streaming coverage will be available via srs.live and Paragliding Live on YouTube throughout the event.

Competition pilots travel extensively to reach events across Europe. A compact, well-designed Fast Pack Bag keeps wing, harness, and accessories organized and protected across long journeys, so the focus stays on performance once you arrive.
