Nova Nexo Review: A Low EN-B Wing Built for Comfort, Safety and Everyday Flying

Nova has unveiled the Nexo at the Kössen Super Paragliding Testival — a low EN-B paraglider with broad appeal, whether you’re chasing cross-country kilometres, looking for high passive safety, or simply want one wing to do it all. They also position it as suitable for use in flying schools in countries where EN-B wings are permitted for training.

“The Nexo is built for anyone who simply loves flying,” Nova explains. “Compact in feel, precise in handling and surprisingly capable, it blends passive safety with genuine cross-country potential and intuitive flight behaviour.” The manufacturer describes it as hugely versatile — equally at home on long XC days as it is for playful flying.

The Nova Nexo: EN-B comfort for new pilots and progressing flyers alike

Nova highlight several standout handling characteristics: “In held-collapse tests the wing shows very little tendency to rotate toward the collapsed side. Even in real collapses in turbulent air, responses stay measured and predictable.” Additional user-friendly traits include straightforward launch behaviour and composed performance in accelerated flight. “Accelerated collapses differ only marginally from unaccelerated ones,” they note.

Thermal entry is clean and the wing centres intuitively. In turns the Nexo remains composed and flat, while overall handling feels direct and responsive without being demanding.

Durability rather than ultralight construction was the priority here — the size S comes in at 4.5kg. That weight makes it well suited to pilots who want a wing built to last years of regular use, including groundhandling sessions. Porcher fabric is used on the leading edge, with an updated coated Dominico 30D in the centre section. Risers are clearly colour-coded and intentionally straightforward.

The Nexo is offered in six sizes and three colour schemes.

Looking for the right wing for a new pilot or a school? The Nova Nexo pairs naturally with a solid training harness for safe, progressive skill-building.
