Swing Launches the Sonic RS – an All-Round Parakite

Swing have launched the Sonic RS, an all-round parakite developed from the reflex profile of their Scorpio RS paramotor wing. Built to blur the line between strong-wind coastal soaring and dynamic proximity flying, Swing say the handling stays “direct, predictable and intuitive”.
The wing was shaped by Swing’s Italian R&D team under designer Alessio Casolla and refined during extended sessions on South Africa’s coast. The brief was an accessible, all-round parakite with predictable handling that leaves room to grow – easy enough to build confidence quickly, yet dynamic enough to keep pace with more advanced flying.
At its core sits Swing’s RAST internal structure, paired with a reflex profile adapted from the Scorpio RS for parakite use. The combination, Swing say, delivers a calm, compact feel with neutral pitch behaviour and high canopy stability across the speed range, plus faster inflation in light wind without overshooting in strong wind. A wingtip stabilo-control system fitted to every size works with the main brake to sharpen turns for barrel rolls, launching and swooping, while rigid handles pair a conventional brake loop with a padded grip bar.
Risers mix Dyneema lines with 12 mm webbing for precise handling and better launch control, and Fidlock magnetic holders keep the brake handles in place for packing. The Sonic RS comes in four sizes (15, 18, 21 and 24), load tested to EN 926-1, with all-up weights from 50–119 kg and 52 cells throughout. Weights run from 3.5 kg to 4.6 kg.
With a wing this compact, a fast-packing bag makes coastal missions and travel days far simpler – stuff it down small and you are ready to move the moment the wind turns.
